Discovery Session | Securing What Matters: A First Look at the 2026 Security Guidance for IIS

This session introduced the 2026 Security Guidance for IIS, a new resource developed by AIRA in collaboration with CDC to complement the 2017 Security Guidance Considerations for Immunization Information Systems.

Presenters shared why the new resource was developed, how the IIS community helped shape it, and provided an overview of the guidance and companion tools. The session also highlighted practical ways IIS programs can use these resources to assess current practices, identify priorities, and support ongoing security improvements and resilience.
